'Take care of him!' - Chelsea fans have one request as Ethan Ampadu joins RB Leipzig on loan

Ethan Ampadu's season-long loan move to RB Leipzig has been made official.

Confirmation of the deal came via the Chelsea's website, while the Bundesliga outfit took to social media to announce that the defensive midfielder will spend the upcoming season in Germany.

The 18-year-old was left out of the Blues squad for the trip to Japan and new head coach Lampard revealed at his press conference at the beginning of last week that he was keen for the Wales international to play regularly in 2019/2020.

"Ethan is not here as we’re looking at the possibility of him going on loan for the season," he said.

"I tried to sign Ethan on loan at Derby last year, so I’m a big fan, but with the minutes he played last year, I have to think of the bigger picture and the interests of Ethan and of Chelsea.

"The idea that he could play a lot of games somewhere is good for him and we haven’t brought him here while that is up in the air."

Ampadu will be hoping to flourish in Germany upon his return to Stamford Bridge next summer in a bid to force his way into Lampard's plans for the 2020/2021 season.

An indication as to how the teenager will be used at the Red Bull Arena Leipzig has already come to light.

According to German publication Kicker , RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann wants to use Ampadu in midfield this season

News of Ampadu's departure has prompted a response from Chelsea fans on social media.
