Take action on patients’ complaints, 2 private hospitals told

NOIDA: The pandemic public grievance committee, which met on Tuesday to hear the complaints filed against three private hospitals in the district, found that the allegations of mismanagement and overcharging raised against two of them were valid. These two hospitals have been asked to take action within a week.

The third complaint of theft filed against a private hospital staffer was found invalid. The panel found that the patient filed the complaint to avoid paying the bills. The complaint was withdrawn on Tuesday.

One of the complainants had alleged that her husband died due to negligence on part of the hospital staffers who removed his oxygen mask at night and did not respond to the complaints he had raised. The committee found that the hospital did not make any efforts to identify the staff on duty during that night or take action against them. The committee has instructed Kailash Hospital in Sector 71 to identify the staffers and take action against them within a week.
