A new mini golf experience is opening at Rochdale Riverside this week.
Puttstars promises customers 'mini golf with a unique and modern twist, thanks to three interactive and fun filled nine-hole courses'.
Gone are the days of pencil and paper scoring. Instead, scores are digitally calculated using high-tech screens at each hole and totted up as players make their way around.
The centre, which opens at midday on Friday, also boasts an amusement area with family-favourite games, and a bar and diner where customers can refuel with a range of food and drinks including pizzas, hot dogs and shakes.

The launch of the venue is creating 25 new jobs, ranging from bar and kitchen team members through to managerial positions.
Jenny Hares, centre manager at Puttstars Rochdale, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the UK’s second Puttstars venue in Rochdale Riverside. Puttstars will bring a unique mini golf gaming experience for families and groups of friends to enjoy and we can’t wait to welcome them through our doors.
“We are now taking bookings for Rochdale customers to come and enjoy Puttstars and have a hole-lot of fun for themselves.”

With regards to safety, the centre has extensive cleaning and social distancing measures in place. Game booking slots will be appropriately limited to control capacity, and amusement machines as well as bar and dining seating will be spaced out, with signage visible throughout the venue.
Guests are encouraged to pre-book their mini golf slot, and groups will be restricted to a maximum of six people. Customers will also be given the option of wearing disposable gloves.

Upon entering the centre, customers will be expected to use hand sanitiser, which will be readily available at dispensers. Enhanced cleaning will take place throughout the day, including the cleaning of putters, balls, and touch screens in between games.
Games cost from £4.09 for children, from £5.09 for adults, or £16.49 for a family of four. Visit the website to book.
The Rochdale Riverside development is part of the £400m regeneration of the area, which has included the river re-opening scheme, the new transport interchange and town centre Metrolink stop and the new Rochdale Leisure Centre.
