Take a look inside new Cross Gates Wetherspoons due to open later this year

As people in Cross Gates eagerly await the opening of a brand new Wetherspoons, take a look at pictures that reveal what it will look like both inside and outside.

Leaflets delivered to local residents suggest that the Charles Henry Roe on Austhorpe Road will open in September.

However, LeedsLive can confirm that this is no longer the case. Instead, the pub is likely to open closer to the end of the year - although no official opening date has yet been announced.

Despite the slight delay, people in the area can still begin to visualise what their new local will look like by opening our gallery of CGI images below.

The pictures show what the former doctors surgery will look like once it becomes a pub. There are even artist's impressions of the beer garden, which will have capacity for up to 70 drinkers.

JD Wetherspoon faced a long battle with Leeds City Council in its discussions to open the Cross Gates pub and were awarded £8,550 when an independent planning inspector overturned the local authority's original decision to defer their verdict.

The ground floor of the building will become the main part of the pub, while an extension is being built for the kitchen.
