The August Offensive took place between August 6 and August 27, 1915.
The Australian War Memorial described it as "the last major attempt made by the Allied forces at Gallipoli to break the stalemate that had persisted since the landings on April 25, 1915."
The Offensive began with an attack on Lone Pine, with the most costly attack being that on The Nek, as seen in the film Gallipoli.
The final phase of the Offensive took place between 21 and 27 August with attacks on Hill 60.
