Sekiwake Takakeisho, who is making a bid for promotion to ozeki, used a strong push to avoid second consecutive loss on the fourth day of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament on Wednesday.

Takakeisho bounced back from a loss the previous day to outlast komusubi Hokutofuji (1-3), eventually pulling his opponent down for his third victory.

Ozeki Goeido continued his strong start in his native Osaka by easily throwing down No. 1 maegashira Kaisei (0-4) to pick up his fourth victory.

Yokozuna Hakuho kept his record perfect, slapping down No.2 maegashira Daieisho (2-2) near the bales. Fellow yokozuna Kakuryu also won, defeating No. 2 maegashira Myogiryu (2-2) for his third consecutive victory.

Ozeki Tochinoshin, wrestling under kadoban status, managed to earn his second win by pushing out a tired No. 3 Maegashira Nishikigi (0-4) to stop a two-match losing streak.

Takayasu (3-1), the other ozeki, won by pushing out winless No. 1 maegashira Endo.

Also undefeated are No. 4 maegashira Ichinojo, No. 8 maegashira Kotoshogiku and No. 15 maegashira Ishiura.
