Tak jolted by minor quake

TAK: A minor earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 1.04am on Sunday, the seismology office of the Thai Meteorological Department said.

The epicentre was in Mae Tan in Tha Song Yang district of this northern border province.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.

Charoenrit Sa-nguansat, the Tak governor,  ordered Tha Song Yang district chief Prateep Phothiam and local administration leaders to examine to find out whether people living along the border with Myanmar had been affected by the quake.
