A Taiwanese bubble tea specialist is to open a new store in Birmingham city centre.
The T4 franchise has agreed a ten-year lease on a 1,065 sq ft retail unit at 50a New Street which was previously occupied by mobile phone repair shop iKlinik.
Bubble tea is a Taiwanese milky, sugary tea-based drink invented in the 1980s which is made using tea leaves with tapioca balls added to give the drink a distinctive look and taste.
T4 was founded in 2004 and has ten stores across the UK with Birmingham its third in the Midlands, joining sites in Coventry and Nottingham.
It is due to open during October.
Richard Walker, commercial surveyor with landlord Hortons' Estate, said: "T4 is a successful franchise business, with outlets in a number of prominent retail centres around the country.
"We're looking forward to the company bringing its unique style of tea to Birmingham."
Wright Silverwood advised Hortons' Estate on the letting.
