Following Wednesday's earthquake in Taipei City, Taiwan, at least seven hospitals have reported structural damage. Despite this, the Municipal Government has confirmed that hospitals in the capital are operating normally.
The damage to the hospitals includes fallen tiles, partially fallen ceilings, cracks in the walls, and electricity outages. However, only one hospital remains offline at this time.
The government statement indicated that all hospitals, with the exception of the Tri-Service General Hospital Songshan Branch, are functioning as usual. The Songshan Branch has temporarily suspended services due to power outages, fallen ceilings, and water leakages.
Efforts are underway to address the issues at the affected hospitals and restore full functionality. The resilience and preparedness of the healthcare facilities in Taipei City have allowed them to continue providing essential medical services despite the challenges posed by the earthquake.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow any updates or instructions from the authorities as the situation continues to develop.
