Tailor denies sexually touching NSW women

A 61-year-old Sydney tailor denies sexually touching two women in a clothing alteration business. (AAP)

A 61-year-old tailor has pleaded not guilty to sexually touching two women in a clothing alteration business in Sydney's inner west.

Thanh Chau Nguyen was arrested in June and accused of touching the women, aged 20 and 30.

He was working in a Glebe clothing alteration business at the time of the alleged incidents, police say.

The 30-year-old was allegedly assaulted in March while police have not stated when they allege the younger woman was assaulted.

The matter was mentioned in court for the first time on Wednesday when Nguyen's lawyer, Monique Tran, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of sexually touching a person without consent.

Police were ordered to serve the brief of evidence on Ms Tran, who will have two weeks to reply.

Nguyen's bail was continued to the next court mention on August 18.

A registrar refused media access to the court file on the ground it could identify the complainants.
