Tailbacks near Edinburgh IKEA as police deal with three vehicle crash on Straiton Road

Police have been responding to a three car crash on Straiton Road, close to Edinburgh's IKEA store.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after midday following reports of an accident involving a number of vehicles. An ambulance was also requested to attend, although the nature of any injuries suffered remains unclear.

There were reports of some queues in the area, near both the IKEA and the ASDA stores, while emergency services dealt with the incident. As of 1.20pm police remained at the scene.

An eyewitness said there were a number of police vehicles at the scene, although traffic was able to pass.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: "We were called to a three vehicle crash on Straiton Road, near ASDA, at 10 past 12.

"Officers remain at the scene, and the vehicles are being cleared from the road."
