A new Godzilla statue makes its appearance on Thursday at a square in front of the commercial complex Hibiya Chanter in Yurakucho, Tokyo. Modeled on the Godzilla featured in "Shin Godzilla," a blockbuster film from 2016, the bronze statue is 3 meters tall, including a pedestal that is 50 centimeters tall. It was erected ahead of the reopening of Hibiya Chanter on Friday after renovations to mark the 30th anniversary of the complex. The name of the square was changed from "Nemu no Hiroba" to "Hibiya Godzilla Square."
