Taibach Rugby Club visitors contacted after suspected coronavirus outbreak

People who visited a Port Talbot rugby club are being contacted following a suspected coronavirus outbreak.

Neath Port Talbot Council’s test and trace service is in touch with a number of members of the public who attended Taibach Rugby Club who are either unwell, awaiting test results or have tested positive for coronavirus.

The service is awaiting official confirmation of onset dates but is looking at a period between October 11 and 13 when some staff and members of the public were unwell.

A council spokesman said: “Those who may have visited the club should be mindful of the symptoms of Covid-19.

“The main coronavirus symptoms are loss of smell or taste, a new and continuous cough and/or a high temperature. If anyone suspects they have symptoms they should get a test”.

Anyone with coronavirus symptoms, however mild, should remain at home and get a test.

Their household members must also stay at home as doing this will help prevent the spread of the virus to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community and will also help protect the NHS.

Taibach RFC said it did not want to comment.
