Tahith Chong makes admission about his Manchester United performances

Tahith Chong has admitted he was not happy with his performances for Manchester United, as he looks to take his opportunities on loan at Werder Bremen.

The 20-year-old has sealed a season-long loan to the Bundesliga club after signing a new two-year United contract back in March. He had previously played 16 times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side though failed to score a senior goal and was frustrated with his appearances, he has now said.

He told Werder's website that he now is raring to go in Germany and wants to make an impact on the wing.

"I love to go and dribble in one-on-one situations," said Chong. "[But] I didn't perform in the games in Manchester as I would have liked.

"The focus is now entirely on Werder Bremen and on playing a good season with the team."

The Dutchman has now linked up with Werder and played a part in their pre-season training camp ahead of the start of the new Bundesliga season.

Chong became the first United youngster to seal a loan exit following the end of their 2019/20 campaign, which ended in Europa League semi-final defeat. Midfielder Aliou Traore joined Chong in departing on loan for the season, joining up with French side SM Caen.
