Tadhg Kennelly salutes 'boring' Dublin and compares them to his own Sydney Swans

Dublin's selfless attitude and ‘no d******d’ policy has them ahead of the curve, according to AFL legend Tadhg Kennelly, who compared their culture to his club Sydney Swans.

Kennelly, the only man to win both an All-Ireland Senior medal and an AFL Premiership, watched on as his beloved home county of Kerry fell to the Dubs after a replay to clinch a historic five-in-a-row for Jim Gavin's side.

And the Swans defensive coach was full of respect when comparing his club to the capital side.

"Jim has got to take enormous credit because they are selfless, it’s all about the team," Kennelly told the Irish Daily Star.

"They put their egos to the side. They do remind me an awful lot of our own football club out here – the Swans.

"They are very respectful. It’s all about the team, it’s not about you. Put your ego at the door when you walk in.

"There’s a policy here in Sydney: we call it the ‘no d******d’ policy, basically, and that’s Dublin.

"Then you put the talent on top of that. Enormous credit. Now, some people can say it's boring, and it is boring. But guess what, it's successful."
