'Tactical genius' - Chelsea fans send Thomas Tuchel message amid N’Golo Kante decision

Chelsea fans were left praising Thomas Tuchel after he introduced N’Golo Kante in Sunday’s 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

The French midfielder initially started on the bench for the Blues after his return from injury with a midfield three of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Mason Mount selected by Thomas Tuchel to start the game.

With Chelsea turning in a somewhat uninspiring performance before the break against their London rivals, the German coach decided to look to his substitutes and elected to introduce Kante in the place of Mount.

The decision paid immediate dividends for Chelsea as Thiago Silva nodded home the opener just four minutes after the Frenchman’s introduction.

Kante then had an even bigger impact as he netted the second of the game - albeit via a huge deflection that left Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris wrong-footed.

The strike was his first of the season and just his 12th for Chelsea since joining from Leicester City in 2016. Chelsea were not quite done there though as Antonio Rudiger hammered home a late third.

Following Kante's fantastic influence on the game, Chelsea were left applauding the World Cup winner's performance, as well as Tuchel's decision to introduce him into the game.

Here are the best of responses from social media:

The win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium leaves the Blues top of the Premier League table, level on points with Liverpool and Manchester United.

Tuchel’s troops have edged ahead of the Jurgen Klopp's side courtesy of alphabetical order, with both teams having the same goal difference and having found the net on the same amount of occasions.

They face another tough test next weekend as they do battle with reigning champions Manchester City.
