Though Taco Bell have not officially announced the opening of a Newport store, and have declined requests for information, many signs point to the company making preparations to open in the city.

The owners of the unit at 6 John Frost Square have been given planning permission to change its use from a retail unit to a restaurant and takeaway.

Since the Select store closed, work has been undertaken to change the inside of the premises for its new use.

Taco Bell have also advertised a recruitment for 'Food and Service Champions' to join a team in Newport.
