Taco Bell has opened its first Swansea restaurant and this is what it's like

Taco Bell has opened it's first restaurant in Swansea and so far it's been a hit with locals for takeaways.

It was always going to be a different opening due to the lockdown, but the fast food chain is currently only operating a takeaway, click and collect and delivery service until the restaurant can open fully to diners.

Takeaways through Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats started on Friday (January 29) but the doors officially opened to customers on Monday.

Since announcing at the end of last year that the restaurant would be opening next to H&M in Oxford Street, excitement across the city has been building.

And as soon as the restaurant opened at 12pm, people started making their way inside to order lunch, delivery drivers were also there and heading out to deliver food.

Just before 1pm a socially distanced queue started to build up outside.

Talking about opening in lockdown, restaurant manager Richard Walkey said: "It's tricky getting it right, we are hoping restrictions will ease soon but we are prepared to function regardless of what happens."

It is the second Taco Bell restaurant to open its doors in Wales after the Cardiff venue opened last March just weeks before the first lockdown - and saw people queue for five hours to get their hands on the food. You can read about it here.

Some of the chain's most popular choices on its menu include the Crunchwrap Supreme and, of course, crunchy and soft tacos.

It also offers a quesadilla stuffed with three different types of cheese, a spicy "volcano burrito" and fries smothered in nacho-cheese sauce, beef, sour cream and salsa.

The chain was founded in 1962 and there are now more than 7,500 restaurants across the world.

Opening hours in Swansea will be from noon until 9pm, seven days a week.
