After recently trimming its menu, Taco Bell is expanding it — for a limited time.
Starting Dec. 24, the fast-food chain says it is bringing back Nacho Fries along with the $1 Loaded Nacho Taco, Taco and Burrito Cravings Pack and Bacon Club Chalupa.
Taco Bell removed the Mexican pizza, items with shredded chicken — including the Shredded Chicken Soft Taco, Shredded Chicken Burrito and Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt — in November as part of streamlining the menu amid COVID-19.
“While many restaurants, including Taco Bell, trimmed menus during the pandemic, Nacho Fries prove that beloved innovations can always make a comeback,” the company said in a news release Wednesday. ”Here’s to turning a new page in 2021.”
The chain first added Nacho Fries as a limited-time item in 2018. It has brought them back several times.
“In a year as difficult and uncertain as this one was, we know that consumers crave the comforts they love most,” Nikki Lawson, Taco Bell’s chief global brand officer, said in a statement. “That’s why we’re excited to bring back Nacho Fries for our passionate fans to close out this year and kick off 2021 positively and deliciously.”
Taco Bell has sold over 347 million servings of Nacho Fries to date and has reimagined the famous fries multiple times with delicious innovations like Steak Rattlesnake Fries, Reaper Ranch Fries and Buffalo Chicken Nacho Fries.
Taco Bell also removed a dozen items in August including the Grilled Steak Soft Taco, 7-Layer Burrito, Quesarito, Nachos Supreme, Beefy Fritos Burrito, Spicy Tostada, Triple Layer Nachos, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Loaded Grillers, Chips & Dips and the Mini Skillet Bowl.
Nacho Fries will be available a la carte for $1.39 and in a $5 box featuring Nacho Fries, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink. Prices can vary by location.
Taco Bell says the Loaded Nacho Taco includes a tortilla filled with seasoned beef, lettuce, cheddar cheese, nacho cheese sauce and red strips.
