Tackle Trent Williams’ agent denies that he objected to particular trades

Redskins tackle Trent Williams is headed to the 49ers in exchange for a fifth-round pick this year and a third-round pick next year, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.

Williams ended up with the 49ers, and it came down to them and the Vikings in the Trent Williams trade, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport also reported that Williams didn’t want to do a deal with the Vikings. But Williams’ agent, Vincent Taylor, has come out and denied that his client and him objected to particular trades, saying that there has been false reporting on the subject.

“I wanted to respect all teams’ rights and the process and allowed the Redskins to negotiate directly with other teams,” Taylor said in a statement.

Taylor went on to say that he hoped negotiations would quickly lead to a trade that is beneficial for all parties involved. He later released a second statement in regards to Williams going to the 49ers.

“Trent Williams is ready to get back to competing in the NFL and is glad to be part of a great organization like the San Francisco 49ers,” Taylor said in a statement.
