Tackle prospect Yodny Cajuste out 3 months after surgery

One of the top tackle prospects in the 2019 NFL draft could see his draft stock fall after an injury and subsequent surgery. West Virginia’s Yodny Cajuste will be out three months after surgery to repair a quadriceps injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

He earned Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Big 12 last year.

He was projected to be drafted as high as in the first round. Multiple mock drafts have projected the Arizona Cardinals to select him with the first pick in the second round.

He is the third potential first-rounder to suffer an injury during the pre-draft process. The others are Mississippi State DT Jeffery Simmons and Oklahoma receiver Marquise Brown also have suffered injuries that likely will cause them to be drafted later than they otherwise would.

Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez writes Cajuste will likely now be drafted somewhere between the second and fourth rounds.
