The stars of House of The Dragon in a table read
(Picture: HBO)Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon has officially started production.
The network behind the spin-off, HBO, shared a picture of a socially distanced table read therefore confirming the show was officialy underway.
The post read: “Fire will reign #HouseoftheDragon is officially in production. Follow @HouseofDragon for all updates.”
The picture also confirmed some cast actors - including The Outsider actor Paddy Considine and The Crown and Doctor Who’s Matt Smith.
It comes almost two years since Game of Thrones came to an end in May 2019 - with many fans suggesting the finale was an anticlimax.

House Of The Dragon is set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and will tell the story of the Targaryen family.
Daenerys Targaryen was a major character in the main series and was played by Emilia Clarke - so the story will tell of her family background and how she became to be the major player in the main series.
Fans of George RR Martin’s books will know the Targaryen family becomes embroiled in a deadly civil war.
As well as Smith and Considine, stars Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint and Olivia Cooke were all at the table read.
Considine, 47, will play the “warm, kind and decent” King Viserys Targaryen in House Of The Dragon.
Smith, 38, will star as Prince Daemon Targaryen.
House Of The Dragon is one of many Game Of Thrones TV projects HBO has in the works, while a stage show for the West End is also in production.
Game Of Thrones was a pop culture phenomenon during its eight-season run. Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington all made their names on the show.
