Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher took four wickets in four balls as his team crushed Holland by seven wickets in Monday’s T20 World Cup qualifier in Abu Dhabi.
The 22-year-old, born in South Africa, went from no wickets for 12 at the end of his first over to four for 14 at the end of his second, Holland slipping from 50 for two to 51 for six.
He became the first Irishman to take a T20 international hat-trick when Scott Edwards lost a review against his leg-before decision.
And he bowled Roelof van der Merwe with his next ball to go one better.
Colin Ackermann had been his first victim, caught behind by Neil Rock, and he was followed by skipper Ryan ten Doeschate, lbw.
Campher told Sky Sports: "To be honest I wasn't feeling great out there with the ball and then a couple of guys have just said 'crack it down the wicket here' and thankfully I was able to do that.”
He is the third player to take four wickets in four balls in a T20 international. Rashid Khan did it against Ireland in 2019 and Lasith Malinga against New Zealand the same year.
Holland were all out for 106 with their final wicket falling on the last ball of their 20 overs.
Ireland then cruised to 107-3 in 15.1 overs with Gareth Delany hitting 44 in 29 deliveries and Paul Stirling making an unbeaten 30 off 39 balls.
