T20 World Cup: Bangladesh eye Super Eight spot in clash against Nepal

NEW DELHI: When Bangladesh plays a challenging Nepal in the T20 World Cup at Kingstown on Monday, they'll be hoping to correct their mistakes and secure the second Super Eight position from Group D.

Bangladesh, who started the competition in the bottom group, is expected to advance further with four points, but a determined Nepali team will be a serious threat.

Nepal will be extremely confident after almost pulling off a victory over South Africa, even though they haven't won a game and aren't in the running for the next round. They will be eager to realize their dream of defeating a Test-playing country before finishing.

According to PTI, if Bangladesh loses to Nepal by a large margin and the Netherlands wins against a struggling Sri Lanka, things may change for Bangladesh. That may seem implausible, but this tournament hasn't been without its shocks.

The 2014 champions Sri Lanka, who are ranked fifth in Group D, will play the third-place Netherlands in Gros Islet, wary of the Dutch firepower and current form.
