The first ever women’s T20 London Cup game to be held on the main pitch Lord’s takes place today when Middlesex meet Surrey.
The home side, Middlesex, will be looking to defend the title they won with a seven-wicket victory last year, and secure fifth successive triumph in the annual fixture.
A crowd of around 4,000 are expected at the famous London venue for the historic limited-overs clash, as the buzz grows around what could be a famous summer of cricket for this country.
Though last year’s match was held at Guilford CC, previous renewals have been played at The Oval and on the Nursery Ground at Lord’s.
However, this will be the first held on the Home Of Cricket’s main pitch, which will also host the men’s World Cup final and an Ashes Test later this summer.
