T-Mobile makes major changes to phone plans that will mostly affect longtime customers

  • T-Mobile is retiring several of its oldest phone plans, some dating back nearly 15 years to the 3G and 4G eras.
  • These older plans have limitations such as slow data speeds, limited premium data, 480p video, and less hotspot data.
  • Customers on these plans will be automatically moved to “modern plans” with enhanced features and a five-year Price Guarantee.
  • While some customers will see no change to their monthly bill , others may experience a modest price increase.
  • Impacted customers have been notified and can explore other plan options through the T-Life app, T-Mobile's website, or customer support.
