T.J. Watt credits Steelers fans for forcing Chargers to use silent counts

If you watched Sunday’s game and didn’t realize it was a road game, you might have thought the Pittsburgh Steelers were playing at Heinz Field. But instead the game against the Chargers was in Los Angeles but Steeler Nation filled the stadium and far outnumbers Chargers fans.

The disparity was so impactful, Los Angeles was forced to use silent counts on offense in their own stadium. After the game, linebacker T.J. Watt confirmed this in a quick video he did for the Steelers you can see above.

The term 12th man gets thrown around a lot in terms of the fans but this typically applies to home games. Sunday’s game the 12th man for the Steelers took over Dignity Health Sports Park. This helped the Steelers defense dominate the Los Angeles offense for much of the game.
