T.J. Hockenson 6th in initial Offensive Rookie of the Year odds

Lions first-round pick T.J. Hockenson is one of the early favorites to capture the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honor. Detroit’s tight end projects to be a key weapon in the Lions offense and the odds reflect the opportunity Hockenson is expected to get.

Hockenson stands at +1200 in the initial post-draft odds for the offensive award, the sixth-best odds among the rookie class. The odds are posted at BetOnline.

Kyler Murray is the favorite, as would be expected of a quarterback taken No. 1 overall and immediately handed the starting job. The Cardinals QB is at +225, followed by Washington QB Dwayne Haskins, taken 15th overall, is next at +700. Josh Jacobs, the only RB in the first round at No. 24 overall, comes next at +900.

A pair of wideouts, Mecole Hardman and Marquise Brown, both have +1000 odds. Brown was the first WR taken at No. 25 overall to Baltimore, while Hardman fell to the bottom of the second round to Kansas City.

Barry Sanders in 1989 was the last Lions player to win the rookie of the year honor.
