'T in the Park' Mysterious Tennent's tree leaves Scots scratching their heads

A Tennent's tree 'growing' in a Scots forest has receiving a mixed reaction from locals.

The tree was decorated in discarded beer tins as some found the funny side, while others slammed the litter bug responsible.

Rebecca McGregor, from Aberdeen, spotted the yellow glow while out for a walk in Kincorth.

Posting the pictures on Facebook, Rebecca joked: "Does anyone know what type of trees these are? Kincorth area x.

"Sure a few people would love this in their back garden.

"All jokes aside please take your rubbish home."

The pictures were shared to the page Aberdeen In Colour, leaving some jokers in stitches.

One person commented: "The rare Tennent's Tree, in its natural environment.

"Scientific name: Aceraceae Zythtennent

"But, yes, please don't decorate trees with your empties."

Another said: " T in the Park!"

A third said: "Don't pick yet, not ripe enough....."

Another asked: "Is that where t tree shampoo from?"

But others weren't so impressed, while one saying: "I've seen a few trees growing cans like this recently.

"But it is not helping the situation it is only making it more of an eye sore!

"If your picking it up to place on a branch put it in a black bag and bin it."

Another said: "When the ranger service stopped emptying the litter bins on the hillside the trees and bushes started to sprout beer tins.

"I heard that technically it not litter as its not on the deck.

"New empty with each dog walk, its been happening for years, we clear one tree......"
