The National Front for the Liberation of Syria announced that it had destroyed a Syrian regime operations room located east of the city of Idlib, whose countryside is witnessing military buildup in preparation for a regime offensive despite Turkish-Russian efforts for a settlement.

Field sources said that the Front targeted the regime’s operations room with an anti-armor missile. A regime officer along a number of other troops were killed in the attack.

This comes a day after the Front announced its readiness to “repel any aggression against its forces in and around Idlib.”

It also prepared “defensive and offensive plans for all possible scenarios.”

On Wednesday, the Front said it “repelled an infiltration attempt by regime forces, backed by Iranian militias, west of Aleppo.”

The National Front for the Liberation of Syria is a Syrian rebel alliance that was formed in southwestern Syria in July 2017 by 11 opposition groups as a "unified national, military, and political unit" in the region.

Front spokesman Naji Abu Hudhayfah, told media outlets on Saturday that “fighters targeted with an anti-tank missile a regime ZSU-23-4 Shilka in the area of Al-Malihah, near the village of Umm al-Khalakhil.”

Abu Hudayfah added that the missile “destroyed the vehicle along with a 23-mm machine gun, in addition to hitting the operation room of the military outpost.”

Areas of operations for the National Front for the Liberation of Syria include Daraa, Quneitra, the Damascus countryside, Homs, Hama, and Idlib governorates.
