Meanwhile, the US forces continued to reinforce their positions near the oilfields in southeast Syria
Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said the army units continued deployment to the Syrian-Turkish border towards the east in completion of their deployment to the rest of the border with Turkey.
On Sunday, Qasad (SDF) started to withdraw from the borderline between Syria and Turkey in implementation of the provisions of Sochi agreement.
An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry welcomed the withdrawal of armed groups in northern Syria to a depth of 30 km through direct coordination with the Syrian regime army.
Further, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusogl said Monday that the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) have not fully withdrawn from a strip of northeastern Syria under a Russia-brokered accord.
Cavusoglu added that a Russian delegation headed to Turkey to discuss joint patrols that could begin as soon as Tuesday.
If the YPG do not fulfill the agreement to pull back more than 30 km (18 miles) from Turkey’s border, Turkish-led forces will “clear these terrorists from here”, he said.
