Syria approves Assad, two others to run in presidential election

Syria's higher constitutional court on Monday approved President Bashar al-Assad's application to run in the presidential election scheduled for May 26.

The court also approved two other candidates, Abdallah Saloum Abdallah and Mahmoud Ahmed Marei.
