Sylvester Stallone‘s iconic character Rocky could return to the big screen, according to the actor himself.

Stallone discussed a potential Rocky 7 with Variety, telling the platform: “There’s a good chance that Rocky may ride again.”

Asked about a potential premise for the film, he added: “Rocky meets a young, angry person who got stuck in this country when he comes to see his sister.

“He takes him into his life, and unbelievable adventures begin, and they wind up south of the border. It’s very, very timely.”

Stallone confirmed that based on this potential scenario, the movie would tackle immigration issues in the US.

Rocky producer Irwin Winkler told Variety the team are “very anxious” to make the film, and that negotiations are currently underway with Stallone.

The most recent movie in the franchise, Rocky Balboa, came out in 2006.

Two spin-off films, Creed and Creed II, were released in 2015 and 2018.
