A woman has been charged with murder of a four-month-old baby boy in Sydney's southwest. (AAP)

A woman has been charged with murder of a four-month-old baby boy in Sydney's southwest earlier this year.

About 4.40pm on May 20 emergency services responded after concerns were raised for the welfare of residents at a home at Oran Park.

When police arrived they found the baby unconscious and unresponsive.

Paramedics began CPR before the infant was taken to Campbelltown Hospital, however, he was unable to be revived.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Narellan Police Station before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for assessment.

The home was examined by specialist forensic officers and Camden Detectives began investigating the child's death.

The woman was arrested in Malabar on Wednesday and charged with murder (DV).

She was refused bail and appeared before Campbelltown Local Court via AVL, where she was formally refused bail and will reappear before the same court on November 24.
