Sydney Sweeney's Snacking Secret On Set Of 'Immaculate' Revealed

CEO of Comeback Snacks Emily O'Brien poses near snack boxes at her warehouse in Vaughan, Ontario

Sydney Sweeney recently delved into the world of horror movies with her debut in the film 'Immaculate,' which premiered at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin. During a Q&A session following the screening, Sweeney shared insights into her experience working on the gory thriller.

One interesting detail she revealed was about the wardrobe for the film, particularly the habit-heavy costume she wore. Sweeney disclosed that her fake pregnant belly had a hidden pouch filled with candy, allowing her to snack discreetly during takes.

As an executive producer on the project, Sweeney was actively involved in various aspects of the production. Director Michael Mohan praised her hands-on approach, noting that she provided valuable feedback on the costume designs, which were all custom-made and meticulously crafted.

During the Q&A, Sweeney also recounted her long-standing connection to the script of 'Immaculate.' She had first encountered the script a decade ago when she auditioned for an earlier iteration of the film. Despite the project not materializing at the time, Sweeney remained captivated by the story and eventually reached out to the writer, Andrew Lobel, to secure the script for her own horror movie venture.

Lobel, reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, described the experience as a 'fairy tale' moment. Having persevered through years of setbacks and rejections, he initially doubted the possibility of seeing his script come to life. It wasn't until well into the production process that Lobel fully embraced the reality of his movie being made.

For Lobel, the journey of bringing 'Immaculate' to the screen was a rediscovery of his passion for filmmaking and a reminder of the joy of creating art. He emphasized the gratification of sharing one's work with audiences as a driving force behind the artistic process.

'Immaculate' is currently showing in theaters, marking a significant milestone for both Sweeney and Lobel in their respective roles in the film industry.
