Sydney Sweeney's Latest Movie 'Immaculate' Premieres At SXSW

Hunter Schafer's Horror Film 'Cuckoo' Set To Premiere At Berlin Film Festival

Sydney Sweeney recently premiered her latest movie, 'Immaculate,' at SXSW, marking her third high-profile release in just four months. Her previous ventures include the successful romantic comedy 'Anyone But You,' which grossed over $200 million worldwide, and the less well-received Sony comic book film 'Madame Web.'

In 'Madame Web,' Sweeney portrayed Julia Cornwall, a version of Spider-Woman. Despite the film's domestic box office earnings of $42 million and a global gross below $100 million, it faced harsh criticism from both audiences and critics, earning a mere 12% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The negative reception of 'Madame Web' extended beyond the film itself, with Sweeney humorously acknowledging the backlash on 'Saturday Night Live.' The movie also became a target for late-night hosts, including a quip from Jimmy Kimmel during the Oscars ceremony.

Co-star Dakota Johnson shared her thoughts on the film's reception, expressing disappointment but not surprise at the outcome. She highlighted the challenges of creating art in an industry increasingly driven by commercial considerations rather than artistic vision.

Despite the mixed response to 'Madame Web,' Sweeney remains undeterred, focusing on her current project, 'Immaculate,' which is set to hit theaters on March 22 under the banner of Neon.

While 'Madame Web' continues its theatrical run, Sweeney's resilience and commitment to her craft are evident as she navigates the highs and lows of the entertainment industry.
