The amusement park with Australia's biggest smile is $5000 poorer after breaching COVID-19 restrictions on New Year's Eve.
The secretary of Luna Park on Sydney Harbour received the penalty infringement notice on Wednesday afternoon.
The fine came after mobile phone footage showing crowding at the iconic amusement park on New Year's Eve sparked a police investigation.
Officers made inquiries with the venue and reviewed further footage before fining the park for breaching a public health order.
The NSW government had implored Sydneysiders to stay away from the usual harbour festivities this New Year's Eve, amid fears of a ballooning coronavirus cluster and a lockdown in the northern beaches.
The government introduced tighter restrictions on December 30 after the state recorded 18 local cases, limiting outdoor gatherings to 30 instead of 50 people.
Despite government pleas to stay home, the midnight fireworks on the harbour went ahead.
Luna Park sold tickets to its New Year's Eve celebration for $99 and above, with guests promised a family friendly environment, unlimited rides and entertainment.
