Two men have been charged after police seized $800,000 from their Mercedes in Sydney's west.

Officers from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor stopped the car in Rosehill about 6pm on Tuesday.

Police say they found a sports bag and black garbage bag containing $800,000 cash.

Documentation and mobile phones were also seized.

The 31-year-old driver and 32-year-old passenger were arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.

Detectives then searched a Granville unit and seized a money counter, documentation, a stun gun and an amount of white powder.

Both men were charged with knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, while the older man was also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon without a permit.

They appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday and were both formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on January 28.
