A man has been charged with murdering a 39-year-old man in Sydney's inner east.
Emergency services were called to an apartment block at Rushcutters Bay on Wednesday afternoon, following reports of an assault.
Police and paramedics found a man unresponsive in a basement parking area.
Paramedics treated the man before taking him to St Vincent's Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police arrested a 42-year-old man, who was reportedly the victim's partner, at the scene and took him to Kings Cross Police Station.
He was transferred to hospital under police guard for observation, before being taken back to the police station and charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court on Thursday.
