A family from Western Sydney have been fined after allegedly travelling to Thredbo with their two children during lockdown.

NSW police said they were alerted that a 39-year-old man and 31-year-old woman had travelled from the Blacktown area on Saturday July, 24.

They said the man "indicated" to police he had travelled from Sydney to Jindabyne on Saturday morning to go skiing.

The couple were ordered to return to Sydney and were fined $1000 each, police said.
