A $1 million contract to upgrade the Sydney International Equestrian Centre will be scrutinised in a NSW parliamentary inquiry.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption found eight 'corruption risks' in regards to the tender process but referred the issue back to the Office of Sport.
Chair of the Public Works Committee NSW Labor MP Daniel Mookhey said the committee had a responsibility to make sure the state was getting value for money when it spent public dollars.
"It is critical that integrity in government procurement processes is maintained, and this inquiry will provide an oversight function in this particular context," Mr Mookhey said on Thursday.
"We look forward to getting to the bottom of this issue, and providing assurance to the public that concerns of this kind are taken seriously and investigated."
The circumstances surrounding the procurement process for this contract have been reviewed by an independent probity advisor appointed by the Office of Sport, to address perceptions of corrupt conduct.
The ICAC review recommended ways the Office of Sport could improve and strengthen their procurement process.
Submissions to the inquiry close on September 3.
