Sydney driver in hospital after car plummets 30m off cliff

Car crashes off cliff

A Sydney driver has survived after his car plunged 30 metres over a Mosman cliff in the city's north.

The driver's white four-wheel drive was heading south on Parriwi Road, near the intersection of Spit Road, at Mosman, when it veered off the road about 7:45am, NSW Police said.

The vehicle went through a timber guard rail and dropped about 30 metres down an embankment.

The driver, believed to be aged in his 60s, was able to get himself out of the car after the ordeal.

Ambulance paramedics treated him for minor facial injuries and he was taken to Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.

It was understood he was the only person in the car at the time.

Emergency crews were now working to take the car away.

Police are investigating the possibility the driver suffered a medical condition.
