Sydney couple denied bail following Kings Cross drug arrests

A Sydney couple who described themselves on social media as the "King and Queen of Darlinghurst" have appeared in court charged with supplying ice and heroin in the Kings Cross area.

Mathew Bieganski, 33, and his fiance Belinda Stoleksi, 35, were two of four people arrest during a series of inner-city raids on Tuesday following an undercover police operation.

Just days earlier Stoleski posted a photo of the couple on Facebook with the words "King and Queen of Darlinghurst" and cartoon crowns above their heads.

Their co-accused, Toni Leanne Bennett, 41, is alleged to be one of the key players in the drug ring which police say used phones, internet and ledgers to distribute the drugs around Kings Cross.

The Potts Point woman faces 25 charges of supplying a small quantity of a prohibited drug.

She did not apply for bail in Central Local Court and it was formally refused.

A second co-accused, Adam Wright, 40, appeared in court via an audio visual link. His face was bruised and he was wearing a patch over his left eye.

The court heard his "substantial injuries" were suffered when he violently resisted arrest.

He was granted strict bail including the condition he not associate with his co-accused.

The prosecution had opposed bail describing Wright as being "part of a network of criminal associates," and that he presented an "unacceptable risk with the possibility of endangering the safety of the community."

Stoleski faces a number of charges including supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis. She cried as the court was told she had struggled with drug addiction for years and that despite an ongoing record she continued to commit offences.

The court was told Bieganski was only two months into a suspended sentence for drug offences when he was arrested on Tuesday. Both were denied bail.

All four will face court again in November.
