A Sydney café has sparked outrage on Reddit over the price of its bacon and egg roll, with one person questioning if the “world’s gone mad” with inflation.
It’s without a doubt that cozzie livs is whooping our buttocks in every way possible. From housing to groceries and even eating out, you basically have to be Richie Rich to exist nowadays.
To further prove that the cost of living is the succubus of life, a Reddit post of a Sydney café’s menu has gone gangbusters on the forum site for its prices.
Shared on r/Sydney, u/Sharp-Can7715 posted an image of what’s reportedly Lane Cove National Park Café, highlighting the price of the bacon and egg roll.
“World record bacon and egg,” the Redditor wrote alongside an image of the chalk menu, which shows the humble brekky sanga priced at $17.50.
“Can anyone find a place that beats this for [bacon and egg]? For context, it’s inside a national park.”

Shortly after posting, the thread lit up with fellow users slamming the price of the bacon and egg.
“It’s honestly getting ridiculous at these cafes for mediocre food, too. And they have audacity to ask for tips,” one Redditor wrote.
“This is a crime scene,” another penned.
“Dude, it’s cheaper at Perisher, that’s incredible,” a third claimed.

Other Redditors also slammed the prices of the other menu items, including the hot chips, which are priced at $12 for a small portion, the $27 garden salad and the $10 toast, which comes in both fig and raisin and sourdough.
“$20 for a large one is a joke!!! My local has a large chips for $10 and it is easily double that size,” an outraged redditor wrote.
“I associate those chip boxes with bargain takeaway stores. $12? For the small one? Fuck off,” another penned.
“That ham & cheese croissant is also going rogue,” a third person wrote.
As prices continue to inflate across the board, it’s no shock that folks are working two jobs to keep up.
Earlier this year, the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed that one million Aussies are currently multiple-job holders, with people aged 20-24 most likely to be working two jobs.
With prices like that darn bacon and egg roll, I am not surprised. I honestly wish we could turn back time, where a juicy corn jack was one buck at the school canteen.
Those were the times.
