Sydenham Bypass crash near Belfast city airport causing long delays

A crash on the Sydenham Bypass this evening is currently causing long delays for motorists.

The collision, understood to involve three vehicles, happened close to the entrance of Belfast City Airport.

Emergency services are at the scene and there are long delays for traffic heading towards the airport in the direction of Bangor.

Lane two is currently blocked but the road remains open at present.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Due to a three vehicle road traffic collision on the Sydenham Bypass, Bangor bound traffic is badly congested.

"Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route if possible."
