Sydenham bypass open after being closed for several hours on Sunday

A main Belfast road has reopened after being closed overnight and into Sunday morning.

The Sydenham bypass city-bound was closed from 10pm on Saturday night and remained closed until 11am.

The road was undergoing repairs and diversions are in place.

Newtownards road resurfacing scheme will leave parts of the town closed to traffic  

Meanwhile, work has begun on a £300,000 road resurfacing scheme in South Belfast .

The scheme, which stretches from Balmoral Avenue to Bristow Park, will improve the surface quality of the carriageway and footways in the area. 

The work will be carried out with a combination of lane and road closures.

It is expected to be completed by June 10.
