SWT's Perthshire wildlife visitor attraction reopening delayed by summer storms

Perthshire wildlife lovers will have to wait a little longer to go back to a popular place to view birds.

The reopening of the Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre run by the Scotish Wildlife Trust has been put on hold after a summer downpour on Tuesday night flooded paths and caused disruption at the centre close to Dunkeld.

Other SWT sites like the visitor centre at the Montrose Basin reopened on Thursday, August 13.

Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre had to wait to welcome visitors back to the place made famous by breeding ospreys making it their summer home.

A further announcement will be made on the trust’s social media channels once the Dunkeld centre is ready to open.

When it does, visitors will notice a number of measures, including Perspex screens and one-way systems to help maintain social distancing. Advance online booking is essential to visit the Loch of the Lowes.
