Switzerland vs Turkey prediction: Shaqiri looking to secure Euro 2020 Round of 16 spot

It all comes down to the last group game to decide their fate - Switzerland need a win at the Baku Olympic Stadium to have any hope of progressing through to knockout stage of Euro 2020.

Vladimir Petković's side are the favourites at 4/6 with Grosvenor Sport while their opponents are 17/4 and a draw is 29/10.

A draw is not good enough for Switzerland to progress so anything other than a win and they will be packing their bags. But Turkey are yet to impress in this tournament.

Losing both their matches to Italy and Wales have put the Turks close to a lose-lose situation - they win and finish they could overtake Spain if they fail to get a result in their final group stage match, which is a tough ask. They lose and they are out for good.

A Swiss win will put them at the top of the third-placed team rankings for now so they will be keeping a keen eye on the progress of each potential third-place finisher throughout the week.

Tips

  • Xherdan Shaqiri to assist - 3/1

Xherdan Shaqiri is the creative link that makes Switzerland tick in tournament football - his record speaks for itself.

The Liverpool man created their only goal of the tournament against Wales so far and while they were brilliantly limited by Roberto Mancini's Italy, Turkey have utterly dreadful this summer.

Turkey's lack of a midfield to control and dictate the play opens them up for constant pressure in defence - which is already leaky at best conceding five goals.

They are yet to score in this tournament and given what we have seen, I will be surprised if that changes.
