Xherdan Shaqiri has ended his international exile but will still miss Switzerland’s big clash with Ireland.
The Liverpool attacker made himself unavailable for last month’s trip to Dublin as he wanted to concentrate on his club football.
But the Swiss media was awash with reports of bust-ups in the camp between Shaqiri and manager Vladimir Petkovic.
The standoff is now over following peace talks in England this week and Petkovic said:
"Xherdan is part of our team and we’re happy we can count on him.”
In a statement, Shaqiri said: “I needed the break. The unrest it caused was not intentional.”
But Shaqiri is out of the Geneva clash with Irelad on October 15 because of a calf injury.
Switzerland will tomorrow name their squad for the double-header away to Denmark and home to Ireland.
