Switzerland boss Murat Yakin sends thank-you chocolates to Northern Ireland

It seems Switzerland can't get enough of Northern Ireland after their World Cup qualification success.

The Swiss booked their place at Qatar 2022 after pipping Italy to top spot in Group C.

Murat Yakin's side beat Bulgaria in their final game, while Italy were held to a goalless draw by Northern Ireland at Windsor Park.

That stalemate in Belfast saw Switzerland safely through to next year's finals, at the expense of the Azzurri who now have to go through the play-offs.

The Swiss players celebrated last week with some beers, and even indulged in a rendition of Sweet Caroline, the song made famous by the Green and White Army.

Yakin promised he would send Northern Ireland "some of the best Italian chocolate" after Ian Baraclough's side helped the Swiss on their way - and he has been true to his word.

In a video posted on the Swiss national team's official Twitter, it shows Yakin packing some tasty chocolates along with a special thank-you note.

In the video, he says: "93 minutes without conceding a goal against the European champions Italy = 9.3kg of Swiss chocolate being sent to Northern Ireland. Sweet thanks, Murat."

And the music playing in the background?

You've guessed it, 'Sweet Caroline'.
